Now that Christmas is just around the corner, I started noticing homes being lit by the lights of Christmas?. I like driving around looking at the different views that people put in place. Some of my favorite displays have lights synchronized to a music system; Not only do I love the way the lights are programmed to music, but how objects change from one color to another.
Thanks to ongoing research in Sweden, we can not have to wait for Christmas and the darkness of the night to take advantage of these types of displays. The researchers found a way to use the natural biology of plant growing electronics inside himself. This was done by placing the organic building blocks in the source of rose plants, which eventually became "son" throughout the stem and leaves of rose water. Once the son were built, or more precisely - grown researchers have managed to create an electrical circuit and manipulate the appearance of the plant, changing its color!
The benefits of such a discovery are not limited to the creation of modern Christmas decorations. Researchers are looking at this as a breakthrough way to monitor the plants and let the producers know if the plants need more or less water or fertilizer, or whether they should prevent the plant from flowering and save bad weather oncoming. It also has the potential to harness natural energy, a real "central".
This type of discovery brings immeasurable potential. Would not it be nice to see this linked to alarm systems? Imagine if someone broke into your home - not only would sound an alarm, but all the trees in your yard could instantly change color to warn all who pass by that you were in danger. What about a gas leak or a medical emergency? With proper signal, your landscaping could turn colors and not only alert someone outside, but also make your home more sensitive to first responders.
Although there are many valuable and practical uses for this technology, I am always happy about the possibility of going to a party where flowers, trees and even the colors of grass change, even perhaps timed to music. How do you see this type of new technology? Please let me know in the comments below!
