91948928 Winter is fast becoming a distant memory, and we're finally setting our eyes on the summer fun. It is the perfect opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. You are outside of work, relax or play, here are some simple tips to keep safe this summer while enjoying the sunshine.

SUN PROTECTION

  • Use sunscreen that is at least an SPF of 15 or higher. Also make sure that the sunscreen provides both UVA and UVB protection. Repeat every 2 hours and after swimming or toweling off.
  • Wear sunglasses that block both UVA and UVB rays. wrap-around sunglasses are best.
  • Stay in the shade, especially during noon when the sun is strongest.
  • Wear a wide brimmed hat to protect your face and neck.

  • Watch for signs of heat stroke such as red hot skin, rapid or weak pulse, shallow breathing, nausea, and changes in consciousness. If you suspect heat stroke, call 9-1-1 and be sure to take the person on the inside or a shady place to lie down, put cool, wet towels on their skin to lower their temperature heart, and often their mist with water.

SAFETY BEACH
