It comes from the idea that psychological forces in our brain can affect our physical health directly, both negative and positive.

We see evidence in research studies when people show improvement in health after taking a placebo (ineffective) drug after they are told the drug will work.

Another example of how your mind can affect your health is stress. Health conditions such as high blood pressure, stroke, and heart attacks have been scientifically linked to high levels of stress.

Research conducted by Dr. Lee Berk of Loma Linda University in California suggests, it is also a scientific link to reduce stress through laughter.
