ORIGINAL POST :.
The latest buzz in Washington, in addition to the upcoming stimulus package, is who will fill the vacancy left by former Senator Tom Daschle Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.
So far, the media seems to think Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius is the most likely choice.
Although Governor Sebelius has publicly stated that Obama does not want a job in December, it may be a good candidate to push the agenda of health reform of the new president.
So why Sebelius in the study?
Well, it is in the good books with President Obama, quickly throwing his support to him during the presidential primary of 08. It was the Kansas insurance commissioner from 1994 to 02 in from which it now has a roadmap to stand up to the industry of health insurance.
Sebelius is also the governor in a Republican state, suggesting that it has the aura of bipartisanship Obama-like about his
There is no official word Sebelius if the governor wants the job, but it is still to say whether it will take up -. an almost infallible guarantee, it is at least thinking about taking a position if offered.
secondly, the reason Governor Sebelius to first remove his name from other positions in the White House was because she wanted to focus on Kansas obtaining a budgetary deficit . Sebelius is the Democratic candidate up for a seat in the US Senate opened in 2010. Accepting the HHS work would obviously be out of the Senate race.
Is Sebelius have what it takes to be the reformer of Health President Obama wanted Daschle to be?
We'll see.
