Coming Soon: Windows 10 -

12317535-2400x1393 Microsoft recently announced that their new PC operating system, Windows 10, will be available on July 29 e . Also, if you are currently a Windows 7 or 8.1 user, it will be available as a free update.

How to Get It

  1. If you are running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or 8.1, and you installed the updated March , take a look at the Windows system tray on the right side of your start bar. You should see an icon that looks like a Windows logo. Hover your cursor on it and it will say "Download Windows 10".
  2. Click this icon and you get instructions on how to book your free upgrade, as well as information on Windows 10. You will be asked to provide your email address so you can be informed once it has been downloaded to your computer.
  3. When Windows 10 is available July 29 e , it will be automatically downloaded to your computer, and you will receive an email telling you. You can then choose when actually installing it.
  4. If you decide to cancel your reservation before July 29 e , you can make it through the same icon "Get Windows 10".
  5. If you are not eligible for the free upgrade, it will be available for purchase on July 29 e . The Home version will cost $ 119, while the Pro version costs $ 199. But before you spend your money, you must first look in your ability to upgrade to the levels required for the free upgrade.

What's New?

The most noticeable difference with Windows 10 is the office itself. The level difference depends if you're currently running Windows 7 or 8.1. Windows 7 users are accustomed to the traditional desktop PC users while 8.1 were introduced in the "Live Tile" approach. Windows 10 combines the best of both worlds. It starts with the traditional look and feel of Windows 7 (and earlier) office but becomes very different when you click the Start button. You will see the familiar Start menu, with the addition of Live Tiles for a Windows 8.1 design. This can take some getting used to, but it is Microsoft's attempt to satisfy every member of their audience, and I think they did a good job with it.

for Windows 10 will also introduce Cortana. Never heard of Siri? Well, Cortana is the Windows answer to Siri for your personal assistance needs. As long as you have a microphone and speakers, you can interact with it via voice commands. Alternatively, you can type things through the search area.

Another point that Microsoft really is touting Windows 10 ability to recognize the type of device you are using and transforming its display accordingly. The best example of this would be running on a device 2-in-1 that can be used as a laptop or tablet. If you remove the keyboard, you will be asked if you want to switch to a format that is more conducive to a tablet.

Of course, there are a number of other new features and enhancements, too much for me to get here, but there are also some features that will be removed [(whomakesthesedecisions?!)

  1. Windows Media Center
  2. the card game "hearts"
  3. Gadgets Office

As with any new technology, only the time will tell. On the surface, the upgrade to Windows 10 appears to be one of the best efforts of Microsoft and probably even a glance. Do you have additional ideas to share about Windows 10? I would like to hear about them in the comments below!

safety tips for homeowners Grilling -

Barbecuq-Grill-Cookout Independence Day is just around the corner and many people celebrate with cookouts. While some people enjoy outdoor barbecues throughout the year, summer is finally the most popular time to grill. The best way to enjoy a summer outdoor barbecues is to take steps to prevent accidents, including the maintenance of your grill and use it safely.

The Insurance Information Institute provides a long list of grilling tips to help you avoid injury this summer:

  • Turn your grill on a surface flat, away from your home, garage and landscaping. Do not move the grill once it is lit
  • Keep children and pets away from the grill.
  • Protect yourself with a heavy apron and oven mitts that reach high on the forearm.
  • to charcoal grills, only use lighter fluid designed for grilling. Never use gasoline or other flammable liquids, and never add lighter fluid once the fire started.
  • Never grill indoors or in enclosed spaces. Charcoal grills produce carbon monoxide (CO) fumes, which can be fatal in unventilated areas.
  • Keep a fire extinguisher nearby.
  • When finished with your kitchen, remember that the grid will remain hot for some time. Do not cover or store your gills until it has cooled down, and soak the coals with water before disposal.

Of course, accidents can still happen and injuries must be treated immediately. Run cool water over minor burns, but does not cover areas affected bandages, butter or ointment. For more severe burns, victims should visit the emergency room or an urgent care center. If necessary or if in doubt, call 911.

Once you have treated injuries, assess your damage and if the situation requires, contact your insurance agent to discuss filing a claim. According to the US Fire Administration, about 5,700 grill fires occur on residential property each year, resulting in an average of $ 37 million in damages and thousands of injuries, some fatal. The fire that is caused by inadvertence is a risk covered by a homeowners policy, subject to your policy deductible. Typically, an owner policy covers the following after the deductible of the policy is applied:

  • The damage to the house itself or other structures, such as a shed
  • damage to personal property such as patio furniture
  • injury to a guest, as part of the responsibility of the policy (the deductible is not applicable to civil liability)

Make sure you enjoy your summer barbeques; not to burn this season by practicing safe grilling techniques. Bon Appetit!

Planning a Road Trip: The best route is a route Painless -

RoadTrip Summertime is the perfect time to relax on the beach with a parasol, a cold drink, and of course one of those tiny beach chairs. My wife and I recently shared this thought, but immediately followed with "How will we get there?"

We're both fresh out of college and decided to save money and drive rather than fly. We talked of many things that could go wrong, but also how to simply make the best of the long road. Hopefully our tips for planning a trip to the painless route will help you plan your next holiday because, let's face it, it can be very long, difficult, and sometimes quite boring to sit in the car for many hours .

Directions - seems a bit obvious right? You have to know how to get to your destination. GOOD directions but can really make these hours driving much easier. Instead of relying on these ten directions stepparents, we decided to go a little more high-tech with the Google Maps application. He is more than capable of doing the job, and it is free to download. Real-time updates really made a difference to know that ramp to take, what it looked like and how long it has been coming helped us avoid those last minute "Uh oh, I take the North or the south exit? " Mishaps.

Night or day? - One thing we were not sure about was whether we should drive at night or during the day, so we did both (compromising newlyweds in action). On the way to our destination, we drove through the night. Driving through the Appalachian Mountains to 4 hours, in the fog, was certainly not the most enjoyable part of the trip. However, lack of traffic was great, unlike the way back where we seemed to lead to a traffic jam in the other. There was no clear "win" here; the best time to travel really depends on your personal preferences

Safety First -. I know it has been said a million times, but for good reason. We really struggled to stay awake, especially when we drove all night. I acknowledge that I was driving longer than I should have. There's nothing wrong with shooting at a rest stop to nap for a few hours. Getting to your destination a little early is not worth the risk of falling asleep at the wheel

Come Prepared -. We all (hopefully) have car insurance, but very often, many people are unaware of what is actually covered. Before getting in the car for the long trip, it would not hurt to check whether or not your insurance policy does cover things like towing charges or a rental vehicle. A quick call to your insurance agent can give you peace of mind!

Just put a little thought into your travel plan will go a long way toward your goal of traveling stress. I wish all of you summer travelers there will arrive at your destination and return safely, and enjoy the holiday that hard earned! Do you have other suggestions for ways to plan ahead and create a travel without problems?

auto-accidentl-video If you've been in an accident, you may remember scrambling to try to understand what he do and, more importantly, not to do. A car accident is never a pleasant experience for everyone involved. However, as you make the first report of a complaint, you can ease some of the confusion that can often surface after an accident by keeping a few tips in mind.

  • not, under any circumstances sign any document on the premises unless it is for the police or other authority.
  • take notes about the accident, including the names of all parties and witnesses.
  • Often, the driver may differ from the registered owner. Therefore, make sure to write both names. It is important to get this information directly from the parties involved because the police will not release it to you at the scene. This means you'll have to wait days for an accident report to determine such information.
  • Stay as calm as possible and be cordial, but do not admit fault or liability.
  • just stick to the facts. Be careful not to utter speculation or opinions of other people involved about the accident; keep the conversation limited to the contact vehicle and obtaining personal information. Quantum Computers :? Spooky or spectacular

Quantum Computers :? Spooky or spectacular -

there computer programming Many years while fishing on Lake Erie under sunny skies, another guy on our boat noticed his hair stood right on his head. It was not long until everyone on the boat was the same thing happens to them. As everyone laughed about it, we soon noticed something even more special happens - our fishing lines left our poles and go straight up in the air. At first we wondered if we had entered the twilight zone. Luckily we had not, but he was the spooky stuff happens. It turns out that quantum mechanics can be just as weird.

Just as we know fishing lines do not go straight up in the air, we know it is impossible for two things to be in the same place at the same time . For example, today's computers are actually very simple, because all they do is constructed from a series of bits that are either on or off. However, let me explain that with quantum mechanics, particles can exist in the same place. Quantum computers, instead of being composed of bits which are on or off, can be made of qubits that are both on and off at the same time, and any state in between.

Most of fake computers today take us in their thinking are doing many things at once. They get away with this trick because computers are very, very fast. Quantum computers will be able to take advantage of being in different states at the same time to really do several things simultaneously. I expect quantum computers that take advantage of this to revolutionize the computer industry. While quantum computers were theoretical for decades, enormous progress has been made in recent years and some scientists now think that they can be as close as five years.

So what does that mean? Simulations that now take hours or days can be completed much faster. This means they could be built to take account of the considerations and give us better results. You may have noticed that weather forecasting has come a long way in the last decade. Quantum computers should improve forecasting more. Many insurance companies are adopting the analysis as a way to better price their products, identify additional coverage that the insured may need, and so on. Quantum computers should improve the analysis by being able to quickly crunch numbers.

So I feel quantum computers operate goosebumps to our well-being, the strange situation we found ourselves in this boat was taken to our detriment. As we were curious about what was going on, we saw threatening clouds building on the horizon and decided to head. Fortunately, we left when we did because I found out later, we were in an electrically charged area and there was a strong likelihood that if we had stayed, we were struck by lightning from the storm.

What is the life cover additional costs? -

99694394 Not many people sit and think about what they would do if a devastating tornado or fire completely destroyed their home and left them "homeless . "When the unthinkable happens, additional living expenses, an often overlooked coverage that is usually part of a homeowners policy, may prove to be a financial and emotional buoy rescue.

homeowners insurance is an intangible asset that can be difficult to understand -. until you really need, however, it provides peace of mind disaster occur most owners and renters insurance policies include Living expense (ALE) additional coverage, which is also known as "loss of use". This coverage provides reimbursement for additional living expenses while your home is repaired or rebuilt because of a covered loss.

The purpose of the FTA coverage is to help you maintain your current standard of living during the reconstruction process. Examples of this would cover: (this list is not exhaustive)

  • cost of a hotel or rental, including
  • charges storage rental deposit for your belongings
  • rental of furniture and kitchen supplies, if necessary
  • short-term food expenditures (until you find a place with a kitchen)
  • laundry needs if your home has a washer and dryer
  • costs for boarding animals
  • additional mileage costs associated with employment , schools, church and home repairs
  • costs between renting and damaged residence Moving

a covered loss must occur to cover the FTA to apply. This includes but is not limited to damages caused by the wind, fire, lightning, vandalism, or explosion. A standard home insurance policy does not cover flood damage, so these living expenses would be out of pocket. Remember, the FTA coverage is intended to help with the additional living expenses, not all living expenses. The warranty covers the expenses that you would not have incurred had the disaster not occurred. It does not cover your current mortgage, property taxes or entertainment expenses.

Another thing to consider is the limit of additional policy Living Expense. ALE coverage is usually based on the amount of insurance you carry on your home (cover A value). It can be capped at a percentage of your dwelling limit, usually 20 percent of the cover A. For example, if your home is insured for $ 250,000, you could have up to $ 50,000 for expenses additional living.

We encourage you to discuss this coverage with your independent insurance agent. Ultimately, the time to discuss is before loss occurs!

The benefits described here are in the most general terms and is subject to actual policy exclusions and conditions. For the actual wording cover, conditions and exclusions, see the policy or contact your agent.

Halloween blog infographic Halloween is almost upon us and there is sure to be ghouls and goblins knocking on your door asking for sweet treats. Let's review some basic tips to keep those little "monsters" safe while trick-or-treating.

First, some information on vacation (not you ever wondered how it all started?). According to the Library of Congress American Folklife Center (www.loc.gov/folklife/halloween.html), Halloween is said to have got its start in the pagan culture of Celtic Ireland. Called the festival of Samhain, people light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off the evil spirits that were free to roam the earth on October 31 st . After the Catholic movement came into Ireland, the church: the 1st November st All Day Saints, aka All Hallows to honor Christian saints. October 31 st was named Eve All Hallow and people continued to see this day as a time when the dead were allowed to move with the living. This term was later reduced to the name we all use today :. Halloween

This holiday has kept some of its traditions of the original fall festival, but has mostly become a commercial celebration where children and adults dress up in costumes and both give (and consume) massive amounts of sweets. Here are some tips on how to keep your little ghosts and goblins safe while trick-or-treating.

  • Use reflective tape on all costumes. Many costumes are dark in color and it is difficult for drivers to see trick-or-treaters of the road. Reflective tape helps to make your child visible for night drivers.
  • Group travel when trick-or-treating. There are some unsavory characters out there, and a child wandering in the dark is an easy target for a predator. Always travel in groups, like those monsters of real life are more likely to target only one child rather than the approach of a group.
  • Make sure any mask does not limit the vision. Costumes with masks that severely restrict vision are dangerous. You must give up the mask for makeup whenever possible. Many Halloween masks cut peripheral vision, which is needed to assess the environmental one. In the absence of peripheral vision, a child may be more likely to stumble on invisible objects fall on the way, or potentially be hit by a car.
  • Never eat packaged or open candy. As I said earlier in this post, there are unsavory characters among us. Treats with easily resealable packaging or without packaging must be discarded as you never know if the item has been tampered with in any way. We want to think that our neighbors would do anything to harm our children, but in today's society you can never be too careful.
  • Stay on sidewalks at all times. This tip goes hand in hand with the restrictive nature masks and drivers not being able to see the Halloween pedestrians. Stay on sidewalks and only cross the street at crosswalks when to safely help minimize the risk of injury when "trolling" for candy.
