For more than four years, our North Rogers team participated in the Relay for Life. The group 20+ people came together to support the fight against cancer and to stand behind other colleagues Martina Gulevich (who fought against a brain tumor) and Claudia Rivas (who fought against colon cancer.)
Here are some words of some of our teammates North Rogers
Nicole
"I take part in Relay for life because of my grandfather, grandmother . aunt and close friends who have been touched by cancer I walk so that one day we will find a remedy for that one day we can live without cancer exhaustion and pain we endure for just 12 hours. walking the track are a small price to pay when the loved ones around us had to fight much harder. I'll walk every year I can until we can find a cure for this terrible disease "
Claudia
"! Well this is my second year to participate in this inspirational 12 hours fundraising event during the night. This year was a special year for me because I fought against cancer. You always think it only happens to others, not to you or a close family. In my case, my mother and I have the same type of cancer (my sister too.) But we are survivors - that's why I participate in this event. It is an opportunity to honor my mother, my sister and myself. Every day we are faced with cancer and the struggle for life and I think this fundraiser, people can get help and support before it is too late. In my case, the Northern Light here in Fort McMurray hospital had a quick response when I was diagnosed; this is my way of saying "thank you" and to honor those who have not been so lucky

"I took part in the relay for two reasons. I lost my father and also close friends who died much too early from cancer survivors We have two wonderful in our office - Martina & Claudia. - both of whom I admire and want to support as I have other close friends who are struggling every day and I hope, by showing support and fundraising, they will all survivors "
Angel
" with a lot of family and friends affected by cancer, I am prepared to do anything to help fight. and to find a cure
last year, it rained all night. we were wet, cold and painful. Near the end of the night, I just wanted to warm up and rest, so I went to my tent. When I got there, I realized that this is far from the battle of our family and friends have gone through in their fight. I had no excuse to give up because those who are struggling do not either! So I got home and am the last laps with everyone in my feet socks "
Rogers North was to collect $ 00 !; with personal commitments, donations, bottle drives and garage sales, they exceeded it. they then set the bar at $ 2,500. When they passed these, they challenged the rest of North Rogers staff to help bring them to mark $ 3,000. When the countdown final was, "Rabbits Rogers team" raised $ 4,050
Rogers North would extend a huge "Thank you" to all those who have supported the team (a number they intend to beat next year! ) families and children to colleagues who cheered us on and walked with us also, our thanks to VP Mary Murray, who sponsored the team hoodies
