Arizona has some of the most generous eligibility rules of the nation, but specifically asked for the lifting of cutting the inclusion of certain groups, including adults without children.

The Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said in a letter to these cash-strapped states seeking help - although it sort of response.

Instead of granting exemptions, Sebelius offering the assistance of its senior management team for advice and help States to find solutions to reduce costs. It also provided guidance for states to control costs, including:

  • Change benefits by reducing optional benefits and increasing cost sharing for prescription drugs and other benefits .
  • Managing care for people enrolled in high cost.
  • Buy more effective drugs by ensuring countries have the correct information for the price of drugs.
  • Improve and ensure program integrity by reducing fraud and medical errors.

All costs cutting tips that Sebelius offered to states are only of short duration and are not very accurate. But the exemption from registration is probably the last thing that the federal government will do because reforming health care Medicaid increases significantly in 2014.
