blackberry Yesterday CIGNA health insurance has launched a mobile phone application to its 11 million consumers to provide consumer responses instantly.

The mobile application will allow users to ask questions in English and Spanish and use a range of other tools.

The mobile application CIGNA will offer the following advantages:

  • Consumers can locate up to one million health care, hospitals and pharmacies;
  • Compare costs of drugs at 60,000 pharmacies, locate the nearest pharmacy and spend prescription orders by calling CIGNA Home Delivery Pharmacy;
  • The ability to locate emergency care centers to avoid unnecessary trips to the emergency room; and
  • Quick dialing for CIGNA Home Delivery Pharmacy, nurses and CIGNA customer service centers.

CIGNA worked with Usablenet to develop mobile CIGNA to streamline Medicare information in a mobile application.
