Adam Levenson providing optimal health care is a complex challenge that requires coordination and expertise of a wide variety of qualified professionals. Through various healthcare segments, health administrators play a key role in this process. Ensure patient rooms are disinfected to allocating the appropriate amount of staff on each floor, health care administrators to create processes to maximize the effectiveness, efficiency and above all safety.

As the new blog manager MHA @GW, I'm excited to both celebrate and strengthen this remarkable group of leaders. In highlighting the achievements of outstanding students to provide valuable insights on topics related to the management of health care, the MHA @ GW blog will continue to provide timely reflection and useful content to its readers. Before I share what to expect from the blog in 2015, let me tell you a little about who I am.

Who am I?

My name is Adam Levenson, and I come from a family of professionals and directors of all types of health care. My father, for example, has its own dental practice in my hometown outside of Boston, Massachusetts. During my childhood, I saw him try (and often struggle) to juggle the responsibilities of patient treatment and to be the boss. It was clear to me that to be good at one does not necessarily make you an expert to another. To be both effective and efficient leader clinician, you need extensive training.

In college, I studied international relations at the University of Pennsylvania. As I learned about different countries, societies and cultures, I am always struck by the large health disparities worldwide. Now that the MHA @ GW blog manager, I am finally able to sink my teeth into this issue. Speaking of ...

What can you expect from the MHA @ GW blog in 2015
