Health Datapalooza 2015: Interview with the Director of Programs Sara Zellner
How did you about curating 2015 Health Datapalooza addresses and speakers, and how do you think that this particular cohort will help communicate the key themes behind the events of this year
Because that health data is a subject that affects all stakeholders across the continuum of health care every year, we invite speakers in all sectors - including government, technology and medicine - in an effort to provide different perspectives and to facilitate collaboration between the industry. This year we have an especially compelling keynotes group - the White House scientific data DJ Patil chief Humana CEO Bruce Broussard and journalist Steven Brill. We are delighted to hear their views on the promise of health data and its potential to transform patient care and outcomes. The main speakers of Datapalooza Health 2015 include not only why health data is important to change the care, but care how it changes and impact on large companies, patients and government.
Since the 2014 conference, the national and international health communities have addressed the historical public health crises such as Ebola and measles; you expect that these challenges inform some of the conversations that you expect to see take place this year, both among participants and presenters? If yes, how?
Absolutely. , Global public health challenges such as massive spread of Ebola virus are exactly the types of international calls that require greater discussion on how the sharing of timely health data can help. Presenters in our main stage panel, "How Leading Companies healthcare supply companies with their Big Data" and one of our workshops, "The role of social media data in healthcare: promoting innovation, education and healthcare Improvement "have recently returned from West Africa and discuss their experiences there with the Ebola epidemic
the most interesting thing about the health Datapalooza is that we will hear all groups are represented. - universities, start-up, policy makers, patients, etc. -. to open the way health data can be (and already is) beneficial to them face challenges and health crises
another public health problem here in the US is related to climate change and its connection to health concerns, such as increased allergies. This is a subject of timely importance that requires better access, understanding and use of health data. The interesting thing about the Health Datapalooza is that we will hear all the groups represented - universities, startups, policymakers, patients, etc. - On how the open health data can be (and already is) beneficial for them to face health problems or crises.
How's programming revise the current talks on the intersection of data and health? Are there any new additions to the agenda in 2015 that participants should expect?
Based on the discussions of last year, Datapalooza Health 2015 will go beyond treating the reasons why health data is important to the evolution of care by focusing on how and it can change the care and affecting large companies, patients and government. In addition, participants can find new ways of training that will help foster dynamic cross-pollination of ideas and five new training workshops -. Making Health Datapalooza more interactive and educational for all
Are there other participants need to know about health Datapalooza 2015
We create a dialogue on the promotion of the availability and responsible use of health data through the unique forum which is Datapalooza health - but it is the action participants then take the year that advance our mission. We hope that the participants consider Health Datapalooza as an opportunity to learn, network and resume the main lessons to their communities so they can take steps to influence the future of health data in a meaningful way and also to maintain the connections they have made to our event.
